WHAT'S THE BLUE TAX?
VOLUNTARY REPARATIONS TO ACHIEVE GENDER EQUITY AND JUSTICE
Have you heard of the pink tax?
Did you know companies have been charging women 13% more for personal care products than men?
The pink tax is a marketing scheme used to increase corporate profits even though it perpetuates gender inequity. Next time you're shopping, keep an eye out for it, it's everywhere.
Pink razors cost more than blue razors.
Pink pacifiers cost more than blue pacifiers.
Pink vitamins cost more than blue vitamins.
NOT JUST A BRAND. THIS IS A MOVEMENT.
Blue Tax Body + Care products include a 13% blue tax which is paid each month to an organization working on gender equity issues for all gender identities.
This is not a movement for women. This is a movement for all of us. When we live in a society that is gender inclusive and allows people to freely express who they are, we live in a better place.
Each month we carefully select organizations that are working to move the needle on gender equity issues and demonstrate their understanding of the intersectionality of this work to be inclusive and affirming of the variety of identities we each walk through the world with.
Know a great organization doing great work? Contact us and they may end up on this list.
